Transfer To A New Unit
From ScoutManage
[edit] How does a scout transfer from one unit to another?
ScoutManage supports transferring members from one unit to another, as long as both units are using ScoutManage.
First, the unit administrator for the original unit must do the following:
- Login to the unit's ScoutManage account. You must have unit administrator permissions to perform these tasks.
- Go to [Admin :: Pack/Troop Admin :: Archive].
- Under Other Commands (near the bottom, select a member from the unit to crossover.
- Click |Archive|.
- Find the newly archived member in the "List of Archived Members" table. Verify the date and name to make sure you have the correct member.
- Next to the member's entry, click |Download|.
- Store the file on your computer. Give this file to the unit administrator for the new unit this scout is moving to.
Next, the unit administrator for the new unit must do the following:
- Login to the new unit's ScoutManage account. You must have unit administrator permissions to perform these tasks.
- Go to [Admin :: Pack/Troop Admin :: Archive].
- Under Other Commands (near the bottom, click |Browse|, and find the archive file you wish to import.
- Click |Upload|.
- Find the newly imported member in the "List of Archived Members" table. Verify the date and name to make sure you have the correct member. The member is not yet active in your unit. Simply, the archive file is stored in your unit's records on our servers.
- Activate the member by clicking |Restore| next to the member's archive file.
- The member is now active. But you must assign this member to a Den/Patrol and any other leadership positions they will hold. You can do this from the [Admin :: Pack/Troop Admin :: Scouts Setup] page.
Note: The Scout will still be in the original unit's records. Once the information has been successfully transfered, you may delete the member from your the old unit's active records. You may want to maintain the archive copy for your permanent records.
