Style Guidelines
This page contains style guidelines for how to display various concepts in ScoutManage Wiki entries. It is recommended that these guidelines be followed. Not all pages within the Wiki conform to these guidelines. If you see a page that does not, please feel free to change the formatting.
Appropriate Page
Before creating a new page, please see if an existing page could be modified to either clarify it's information, or add more relevant information. If no other page is available, feel free to create a new Wiki page.
When creating a new page, please look at the style and categorization of existing pages, and please use an appropriate page name.
Menu Option
To show a sequence of clicks to display a menu option, format them this way:
Admin --> Pack/Troop Admin --> Scouts Setup
Note the following:
- The entry is left justified (do not use space before the entry or indent it).
- The entry is italicized.
- The use of --> (arrows) to show a sequence of clicks.
Old Style Menu Option
Entries in the Wiki use to use the following style for menu options:
[Admin :: Pack/Troop Admin :: Scouts Setup]
This style is still in use a fair amount. When you see a menu in this style, please update it to the new style shown above. Thank you.
Button
Buttons should be displayed inline, such as the [Add] button in this sentence.
Note the following:
- The button is shown inline within the context of a sentence.
- The entry is contained within square brackets.
- The entry is bold (including the square brackets).
If you see a button styled |Add|, this is the old style and should be updated to the newer [Add] style.
