Rank Advancement

[edit] How do I Add a Rank Advancement Award to My Scout's List of Awards In Progress?
All rank advancement and rank electives are automatically added to each scout as appropriate, and cannot be added manually to a particular scout.
[edit] For Boy Scouts
The next highest rank above what they've already earned will automatically be placed into their "In Progress Awards" list.
[edit] For Cub Scouts
The rank they can work on is determined by the Den they are associated with. If a scout is in a Bear Den, and that scout has not yet earned his Bear Rank, then the Bear Rank award will be automatically added to the member's "In Progress Awards".
To make sure a Cub Scout is working on the appropriate rank, make sure they are assigned to a Den that has been established for the appropriate rank. If you believe a scout should be working on an award and it's not present, check what den they are in, then check to make sure that den is set for the correct rank. If this is correct, then check to see if that scout has already completed that rank. Finally, the "Bobcat" rank has to be completed before other ranks (other than Tiger) become available.
To assign a rank to a den, go here:
[Admin :: Pack Admin :: Dens]
Find the associated den, and see what rank the den is assigned to. If this is incorrect, click |Edit|, select the appropriate rank from the drop down box, then click |Update Den|. Note that this task has to be completed every year as members advance to the next rank.
