[edit] Importing From Other Applications
Want to move your unit's records from another program to ScoutManage? It's easy. ScoutManage provides a mechanism to import records exported from several 3rd party scout tracking programs. You can use this import mechanism to jump start your migration to ScoutManage.
[edit] What Applications Can You Import From?
We support importing from all the top-name scout tracking programs, namely:
- ScoutTrack - www.scouttrack.com (Cub Scouts)
- ScoutTrack - www.scouttrack.com (Boy Scouts)
- TroopMaster - www.troopmaster.com
- PackMaster - www.packmaster.com
Each of the above programs has different information they export and hence can be imported into ScoutManage. Please review:
for more information on what you can and cannot import from each program.
[edit] What If I Use A Different Program?
ScoutManage also provides a generic mechanism to import information in an industry-standard CSV (comma or tab separated values). This method can be used to import data from any program that supports this format, such as Microsoft Excel.
[edit] How Do I Do It?
ScoutManage provides a Windows Client to help facilitate the import process. This client must be downloaded and run before you may import from any of the above applications.
Note: While the windows client is necessary to perform the import, it is not used after the import is complete. Once you complete the import, the windows client can be safely removed.

[edit] What If I Am Using A Macintosh?
Our import client only works on Microsoft Windows. See if anyone in your unit has a PC running Microsoft Windows and ask them to perform the import. The import is a one-time activity that can be performed from any PC in your unit.
