[edit] Send E-mail To Everyone In Your Unit or Group

To send an e-mail to everyone in your unit, do the following:

• Click on [Pack/Troop :: E-Mail].

• Look for the type of e-mail to send (Leaders or Leaders/Scouts, primary e-mail or all e-mail addresses).

• Click on either [send e-mail w/semicolon] or [send e-mail with comma]. The one you click depends on your e-mail program you use. If you are not sure, try one or the other. If it does not work, then the other should work correctly.

Note that the e-mail will be sent from your own e-mail program directly to all addresses, and not from ScoutManage.

• In your e-mail program, cut/paste the recipient list into the Bcc: field so the distribution list isn’t flooded with cascading responses. Microsoft Outlook may require View, All Headers to expose bcc.

[edit] What if it doesn't work?

For each e-mail list on the Pack/Troop E-mail List, there are two links, one labeled "send email w/semicolon", the other "send email w/comma". Some e-mail programs require multiple e-mail addresses to be separated with a comma, some with a semicolon. Some will allow either. A few will not allow multiple e-mail addresses at all.

Try each of the two links in turn. Most likely one or the otehr will work for you. Once you determine which one will work for your particular e-mail program, you should keep using that link going forward.
