[edit] How does a scout cross-over from a Pack to a Troop?

ScoutManage supports crossover, as long as both the Pack and the Troop are using ScoutManage.

First, the cub scout pack unit administrator must do the following:

  1. Login to the Pack's ScoutManage account. You must have unit administrator permissions to perform these tasks.
  2. Go to [Admin :: Pack Admin :: Archive].
  3. Under Other Commands (near the bottom, select a member from the pack to crossover.
  4. Click |Archive|.
  5. Find the newly archived member in the "List of Archived Members" table. Verify the date and name to make sure you have the correct member.
  6. Next to the member's entry, click |Download|.
  7. Store the file on your computer. Give this file to the unit administrator for the Troop this scout is crossing over to.

Next, the boy scout troop unit administrator must do the following:

  1. Login to the Troop's ScoutManage account. You must have unit administrator permissions to perform these tasks.
  2. Go to [Admin :: Troop Admin :: Archive].
  3. Under Other Commands (near the bottom, click |Browse|, and find the archive file you wish to import.
  4. Click |Upload|.
  5. Find the newly imported member in the "List of Archived Members" table. Verify the date and name to make sure you have the correct member. The member is not yet active in your unit. Simply, the archive file is stored in your unit's records on our servers.
  6. Activate the member by clicking |Restore| next to the member's archive file.
  7. The member is now active. But you must assign this member to a Patrol and any other leadership positions they will hold. You can do this from the [Admin :: Troop Admin :: Scouts Setup] page.

Note: The Scout will still be in the original Pack's records. Once the information has been successfully transfered, you may delete the member from your Pack's records. You may want to maintain the archive copy for your records.
